.........yes is the answer.
I was driving down the Warwick Road in Brum today, Tyseley to be exact, when I spotted a black 159 Ti on a second hand forecourt. Hmmm, looks nice, stopped and had a look.
What an expensive mistake waiting for someone.
97K miles, no service record from the PDI to 64K. Then one more service at 80K, non main dealer or even specialist.
Looked like a seized rear caliper as the disk was shot, badly scored on that side.
More stone chips on the bonnet and rear arches than I have ever seen on any car.
Gear change was very, very stiff from the stick.
No record of a cam belt change, and looking at the cam cover, it hasn't been touched since it left the factory.
The lower turbo hose was plastered in oil gunk, and looked like the turbo itself had been bleeding oil.
On the upside, the interior was in good nick, as were the wheels. It had brand new Conti 3s on the front.
So, who is feeling brave........£7995 is cheap for an 08 plate 159 1.9 diesel, but it would need some serious money throwing at it.
The chap said it was the cheapest Ti on the internet, for a very good reason I suspect. Even the metal pedals were worn! The clutch pedal was smooth, couldn't read the alfa logo at all.
Anyone out there willing to take a gamble.....
