For those that may interested, this weekend just gone I had my car returned from the Alfa-Shop with a positive result related to the 'Soggy-seatbelt Syndrome'.
From what I gather, on the passenger's side of the car (for most of you it would be drivers side), the inner surrounding door seal around the area when the door lock catch mechanism is, if you pull this off you are confronted with the inner metal seam that joins the chassis to the outer shell. Sandwiched inbetween this is a form of black waterproofing material that for the life of me, I can't recall its name...yet for me, this was where the problem lied.
Apparently, there were some small gaps here and there within the chassis seam in that area due to a lack of this waterproofing material and, as the water somehow bypassed the inner door seal, it got inbetween and inside the chassis' seam, collecting water to soak the seat belt area somehow.
All I know is that since getting the car back on Saturday, it has been raining hard and true constantly from that day to now and, so far the S/Belt has been fine and perfectly dry.
Someone more mechanically inclined may be able to interpret that better than myself, but there you go. Hope this helps someone or anyone with the same or perhaps...similar issue!?
