Mark my mechanic told me the control box was down and wasnt giving any output to the glow plugs. the glow plugs were not tested at this point. So I ordered the part and fitted it myself. The car was then fine with no warnings coming up for 3 days,. As my normal mechanic is on holiday, i took the car to the indie that ordered me the control box in, just in case the new part they supplied had failed. This time the car was showing power to the glow plugs so all 5 glow plugs were taken out and tested. One was found to be faulty. Now i was thinking what you are thinking. Was the original control box faulty in the first place?. Yes it was , with the new glow plug in when i got home, i changed the control boxes over again so the original was in and the glow plug warning message came on again. Changed back to the new box and all ok again. Seems like I just got caught out with a faulty control box and faulty glow plug within days of each other.
i think i will change the other glow plugs myself , just in case now, but needed to rule out the new control box first and as i dont have a multi meter or anything like that, it had to go to a garage .. oh yeah i did make sure i asked which glow plug had been changed so i know. lol
