159 2.4 JTD

Hmmm 159 2.4 JTD engine failure then no problem ?!?

Hi everyone, my first post and hoping to get some insight.

last week my 2007 159 2.4 JTD all of a sudden lost throttle power and the revs fell to about 1000rpms. eventually the car stalled to a stop (safely) and told me that there was insufficient oil pressure in the engine to run, turn off and restart engine.

So i did. and nothing. had to get it towed to the mechanics (alfa dealer).

Weird thing is, when they checked it the next day, it started normally and didn't show any errors once they hooked it up to the computer. they've checked all the engine components and still no answer. I've got it back now and its driving normally, guess i have to wait until it happens again.....

Has this ever happened to anyone, and if so what could the problem be?

Had something similar, but only at very low speed.
Found it was related to dpf regeneration; when regeneration was going on and i was forced to low speeds (i.e. traffic jam) the engine would stall.

Heard last month when i had my car tuned there is new software for the ecu that solved this problem. Had it installed and no probs anymore.

Maybe the solution for you as well?
