Problems with my new 159!
Hi all, just bought an 07 159 jtdm and having some issues with it.
Got it from a dealer with a 2 year warranty but am thinking I will take it back.
Does anyone know where I would stand legally?
There is hardly any power in low gears unless I rev the hell out of it to set off. Seems to pull OK on the motorway but there is definitely an issue. I phoned the garage I got it from and he said it would be a fuel blockage but I've just done 100 miles and it is definitely not.
From what I have seen here it could be the egr valve?
There was glow light warning the first time I turned it on but I put that down to the engine not being used much during being in the showroom.
Gutted about this, have been saving for a long time to get a 159 after my old 156 was written off and it looks as though I have been sold a stinker!
The thing about the egr valve was that the guy at the garage said the main issue with these is that but it is covered under my warranty?
I like the car and would like to keep it if it can be sorted but I don't see why the warranty company should pay for a fault that was already on the car.
Also the service history has been completed at 18000, 37000 and 60000 miles. Is this not outside the manufacturer's recommended intervals so would probably void the warranty anyway?
Aaargghhh! Nightmare! I was so happy to have an alfa again too!!!!!
