Some of you may know that I traded my 2008 Brera for a 2006 model last Friday
Anyway, here are some thoughts after a few days and 200 miles of ownership.
My previous model had c3k miles on it when I bought it and the new one has 4k miles on it.
The previous 2008 car never ever felt this good despite the much heralded weight saving.
The 2006 car feels tighter, smoother, refined with better brakes, steering and gear change. The latter has surprised me as the early cars I drove had a horrid springy gear change
Anyway, my new one has much better paint work and kit as it comes with BOSE, Radio Nav with integrated GSM SIM, a 10 disk CDC, a great sky view roof (how did I ever cope without that), a front screen with a tinted top section and a heated bottom section.
It has Xenons, heated memory seats & 18" horse shoe alloys that my other one had.
With regards to the seats, I used to find them too flat but two lots of spinal surgery has made me really appreciate them.
They are so comfortable yet supportive enough to keep you in place and unlike the old seats, the bases are softer and don't dig my in my thighs and cause me nerve pain (whispers Nev was right).
It doesn't have a re-map so it does feel slightly short or get up & go in 6th but it's way smoother.
Overall, I am really smitten with this new car and I never really felt this with the old one, even though it was a loyal & reliable friend over 23k miles and 16 months
