Squeaky B Pillar - Help Please!
New 159 TI TBI is going great, not set a foot wrong but after nearly 10 months of driving a few squeaks and rattle have unfortunately developed
Managed to track most of them down but the one thats really bugging me I just cant find the source. Its from the drivers b pillar and is a squaeaking noise, (Much like windscreen wipers rubbing on a dry screen) whenever the car body flexes, you go round a corner or over a speedbump. I was convinced it was the door trim rubbing on the metal, misaligned door or similar but it all looks fine. (Its that bad you can even get it to squeek by leaning on the door!) Took it to Variavas to try and get it sorted but sods law it wouldnt play ball and was virtually quiet on the whole test drive. It had been raining heavily so not sure if moisture got into the seal and temporarily lubricated it or maybe cold temperatures caused the rubber to contract? Anyway they greased the door seals but the moment i drove off it started squeaking again. Its right in my ear and is driving me mad - anyone got any cunning tips or ideas on what it could be and how to sort it?
