My Spider What a Beauty!

Tonight I got 4 flat spots on my tyres. Doing about the speed limit on the motorway.
WOW I owe it my whole evening and maybe an evening /week in hospital. Bloody SAAB's without taillights that work. Nearly smashed into its behind but thank goodness for Alfa 19" tyres and ABS brakes.

Have to admit I drove the last 47 miles at only 55 miles.

Glad you're okay! Those near misses get the adrenaline going.

Have to admit that, when tested on the M60, the Brera brakes / tyre combination wasn't found wanting either - it all felt very controlled.

Even the humble 159 Lusso with 4 pot Brembos (the silver ones) work pretty smartish. Last night going home on the A24, I had a lady (confirmed as I eventually got past her) in a Skoda, a non overtaking overtaker, as I call them, in the outside lane going slightly slower than the vehicle to their near side, know the type? Anyway she eventually pulled over but as I started to overtake her, she just starts pulling out again!!!! Even on the dry road the ABS kicked in, had there been a car with lesser brakes behind me, I could well have been dealing with an insurance claim today.

But, lets do a rant if I can. What is it with some people? Take this Skoda driver, she had absolutely no awareness of any other cars on the road, there is no way she checked her mirror before pulling out, and I should be thankfull she at least indicated. We spend our driving lives having to watch our own safety and that of people without any brains.

Someone said to me, "so whats so special about an Alfa Romeo then?" I told him, "If you have to ask, you wont understand".

Driving Brera S 2.2, wife drives 939 Spider 2.2 and there is a 1972 Spider 2000 S2 in the garage for fun days.

I had a similar incident last night with a woman pulling out on me at a roundabout which links 2 dual carriageways. The anchors and horn combo worked a treat though. Never felt unsure as to whether the car would stop in time
