Just fitted my gear and handbrake gaiter, one from top gaiters on e-bay (link in my earlier message), overall very good quality, fine leather grain. My only complaint would be the 'buckle' on the top of the gear gaiter is a little loose, but doubt anyone else would ever notice.
In terms of the job, I did manage to crack the silver surround of the gear gaiter (there is a black plastic surround underneath). It may have been damaged before, as I certainly didn't think I had even touched it.
The handbrake gaiter is very easy to remove too, undo the button, then where the gaiter joins the console, push the sides in a little and pull up slightly to undo the clips, then push the top down slightly for the clip there and pull up. There is a long clip/ slot on the bottom, so trying to pull it from there first will probably break it, but comes out easily when the others are done.
