Hey Jay,
Have you managed to get your hands on Amber ones for Indicators? The particular seller in EBAY, has Amber ones, but they are all the straight Pin ones, not the offset Pin ones.
I've asked him the question though.

It also seems like he's the only guy stocking these High Power LEDS.

They are pricey, so, useful, only if they're fit for purpose.

Due to size and intensity restrictions I had to go with a smaller all 5050 unit for the tail light (the original filament bulb was a 5W). The Cree is quite bright an creates a central 'glow' in the lens while the ring of 5050's throw light around the housing behind it and fill the lens.

The Cree only should be a nice effect.

Small, none LED based update, but lighting related. Some of you may remember I used 100w rainbow bulbs in my fogs to provide a yellow / euro look to them. Well after some extended use, they are good, but just not yellow enough! so I have just picked up some Laminex film to cover the fog light lenses with to give it the full euro look and touring car'esq yellow fogs

I'll post some picks later.

Fog & Reverse LEDs arrived and installed

Reverse does not have a can-bus circuit on as previously discussed so just plug in and go, while the Fog circuit does have can-bus sensing so it needed a resistor adding. Cree bulbs are 0.4amps and the original 21w filament was 1.5amps so the 10ohm resistors I already had which add about 1.2amps of load did the job just fine.

I will post some shots of the bulbs in action once I get the indicators in but for now here is the installation pics. I built a loom extension for the side that needed an extra resitor adding rather than scotch blocking a new one in, but for the other side that already had the resistor scotch blocked in for the tail light, I just left it as was.

Forgot to mention... those Cree bulbs are very, very bright!!!! my fog light is like a lighthouse on the shore now, so not to be used unless thick fog is in play!!! The reverse light is like having a mag-light strapped to the boot

I am slightly concerned about how the brightness of the front indicators is going to increase now though...... :/

She's in the garage at the minute Don which is why I didn't get any pics. One of these bulbs is definitely going to solve your problem though as they are very bright and @ 12.99 from a UK supplier its worth a punt.

You also get an awesome honeycomb projection effect from the red filtering on the reverse lens that looks great on my garage wall

Jay,
How did you get the Boot Light unit off? I'm struggling to get the damn thing off..

I've now got all interior lights changed to White LED, except the Boot Light .. Just won't come off.. I'm using the BOJO kit, still no success ..

Well, finally, after being a little brave, the unit came out, and now the full interior is white LED. Must say, looks quite plush.
Tomorrow morning, H7 55w HID Kit goes in, along with my already White Side Lights.

I'll probably drop the rear tail cluster LED conversion, for the time being, as a bumper respray is on the cards

Jay, need the pics man, of the Indicators, Fogs & Reverse.

The indicators are still on order fellas, so cant do you those yet, but can do the fog and reverse tomorrow (due to popular demand, lulz).

oh yes, its a proper nightmare to manufacture this way, so need dual layer pcbs to make my life easier. that's next, transferring the design from the breadboards to a pcb layout so I can have some manufactured for those that want one.

Ok, pictures of new LED's as requested... well a video as it was easier!!!

+ YouTube Video
ERROR: If you can see this, then YouTube is down or you don't have Flash installed.

This is a brief update to show the LEDs installed and working:

Stop Tail LEDs are Type 380 1157 13W High Power LED (Red) Stop/Tail Bulbs
High Level Brake Light is a custom ATmega328P + TLC5940NT controlled 10 LED unit
Reverse Light is a Type 382 CREE Q5 12V/24V HIGH POWER LED REVERSING BULB
Fog Light is a Type 382/P21W 5W CREE Q5 RED LED BULB
Numberplate Lights are CANBUS Type 501/W5W/T10 LED SIDELIGHT Bulbs

All LEDs used in Stop/Tail/Fog positions have 10ohm 50w resistors in parallel on the circuits to prevent CANBUS related issues while the reverse position does not need this additional load, nor does the high level brake light conversion.
