Interesting thread. I've done the opposite: for the first two years of ownership, I always filled up with V-Power diesel despite a slight suspicion that it didn't really make any difference.
Over the summer, when prices peaked and the difference for V-Power went up to 8p per litre, I've switched to supermarket diesel plus a shot of Millers Eco-max. Didn't notice any difference, so was quite happy to be saving a few quid every fill up.
However over the last couple of months the engine has seemd to be running rough and noisier and is more clattery on idle. Reported fuel economy has droppped from approx 41mpg to just under 40.
I hadn't made the connection with fuel switch before now, but reading this thread I'm starting to think I should go back to V-Power!
