Alfa 159 mud flaps - wrong way round!? Replacement covered under warranty?
Hi guys. I have read through the other threads on this topic and not found the answers I require...
I was turning into my road after a long journey back from the Silverstone Classic on Sunday just gone when I heard a horrendous knocking sound!!! Thankfully when I parked up and checked, the suspension had not collapsed, but I did find that my front left mudflap had 'torn' and the loosened lower section had been batting against the wheel/bodywork. I have uploaded a pic to show the damage done, and was looking for answers to the following questions...
1. As you may be able to tell from the photo, the mud flap is positioned IN FRONT of the wheel (same on the driver's side). Is this right? Surely it should be behind the wheel if it is there to prevent mud/stones spraying up onto the bodywork? Or is this flap there to prevent something else?
2. My car is only 14 months old - would a replacement be covered under warranty or would this be considered wear and tear. For reference, I don't drive like a hoodlum!
