cambelt slip 1.9 jtdm 2008

hi all first post..... belt sliped on way to garage had belt water pump and tensioner done (tensioner had gone) will not start now???? told it could be the rockers as they are made to snap instead of valves bending and the rest, is this true and any clue as to cost of rockers???? thanks

Not under warranty? It will just be out of it then, maybe worth speaking with AR as long as the service record is up to date.

I had a 1.9JTDm 156 that had had the belt changed by AR after it broke before its scheduled change. While in my ownership the waterpump seized and caused it to break again. I had the head off and pressure tested, but no damage to the valves, it was only after i had paid for it all, that I investigated its first breakage, and AR had replaced the rockers without removing the head. I too could have done the same and saved some money. (though a 1000 curses on AR for not replacing the waterpump!).
