Very rough start up....
Just recently, the 2.4 has started to have a really rough start up.....I have to stick my foot a fair way down on the accelerator to get a first time start and then give it a bit of revs to allow it to idle smoothly straight after starting. If I don't, its lumpy and often stalls. Also, at very low speeds, its very jerky sometimes, and I have to anticipate this happening by feathering the clutch and throttle at the same time to stop the car jerking so hard its feels like its going to shake to bits!
And then, to top it off, it has a habit of not starting at all after its been running for a while and I have switched it off, then go back to it within a short time while it is still warm. It takes two to three goes to get it going...sometimes it will catch, then die straight away or it won't catch at all, no matter how long I hold the starter button....I have to release and then try again, by which it then starts.
Are these things all related and has anyone had similar things? If so, anything I can do about it? Oh and forgot to say....when up and running, warm and doing its thing, it goes like a steam train and is absolutely lovely! If it wasn't for these small gripes, I would be over the moon with it.
I hope this isn't going to be expensive.....any info would be great if you have any...bit of a mystery to me....oh and its been recently serviced, so shouldn't be that....
