Is it electrical??
Well I have posted a couple of bogs on here before and a rant. Now it is getting serious.
Here in a nutshell is what has happened and I am wondering could it be electrical and if so what? Any Idea's appreciated.
Bought 159 2.4 2nd hand w/21K on the clock 9/09. At 31.5K 10/10 had Injector no 4 changed for new as this is what electrical diagnostic indicated. Car had been stuttering with fuel guage up down, showing zero. Car still showed intermittent injector probs up to 4 months afterwards - but would clear up. No engine warning lights or others on when running OK. After this, now and again would get the warning lights- engine, hill holder and other non related issues but no fluctuation of fuel gauge or stuttering as if anything plugged.
End June 11 & 36.5K car died while on the road - started loosing power, then all the warning lights (again) then seriously lost power to a crawl. Ended up in the Scoobie garage since that is where my stalwart was getting a new ss exhaust. They diagnosed issues with Injector settings and camshaft sensor. The former due to original garage moving an injector during testing and not re-setting ECU. Anyway car still not working after that fix so towed to garage that knows AR's and they confirmed a timing issue. Took all apart and consensus was the water pump bearing had failed and led to knock on destruction of timing belt/pulleys. Replaced all. Car ran fine. have driven at most 55 miles and car now stutters, fuel gauge showing oscillation nonsense, standard warning light ups and everything the same before I first took it in in October - to be told it was a plugged injector! I have now spent on this issue alone approx £1500 and still have issues!! So could it be an electrical fault now - and is so what could be the cause?
