Ti ***'s up after 200 miles -any ideas?
I picked my beautiful black 57 plate 2.4 Ti from SGT in Taplow on Wednesday afternoon and have been reeling off the superlatives to all and sundry....I simply love it!; well, that is until I was on mile 223 of my 1st Alfa experience when it started to go wrong. I started to hear some clunking noises coming from what I think is the passenger side front wheel area. They come and go periodically but I definitely notice more noise when I turn into left hand bends (clunkclunk clunkclunk clunk!). It sounds very similar to a problem I had with a Mark I golf GTI I had years ago, and that turned out to be a CV joint. The car has £37K on the clock and was last serviced by Desira Southgate at £33K. I have got 5 star WMS warranty and to note I have done only A road and motorway driving during my brief ownership. Any thoughts on what the problem could be and also what action I should take tomorrow morning would be greatly appreciated. I note there are several mentions of steering rack problems on the forum...any chance it could be that? Fianlly just to mention I did take it out on a good test drive with Julian from SGT, and I didn't hear anything at that time...that said, the radio was on!
