I have had the same sort of problems with Alfa Red, and can also vouch for this kit.
Although pricey, they regularly do 25% discounts to AO members, which makes it a bit of a no brainer IMO.
For me, it took a few goes to get the technique just right - the trick is to not use much blending solution and be a bit patient! I agree, the colour match is spot on, even though up close you can still just about see where the chip was.
I haven't quite managed to get it to work on 'road rash' type sections (front of th rear wheel arch, for example), but for individual chips, it's spot on.
Unless it's reeaalllly bad, I'd recommend this over the expense of a respray.
