Will the 1.9 JTDM clog up in town driving?
I'm looking at getting a 159SW for the wife, around 2 years old. Most of her driving is town driving in the suburbs but once every 6-8 weeks or so she does a 400 mile trip to Cheshire. She only does about 7000 miles a year and I'd say most of her journeys are in the 2-4 mile range.
Almost all the 159s in our price range appear to be diesels - mostly the 1.9. The mpgs are clearly appealing, but I am wondering, is it a bad idea to get this engine for her given her driving needs - i.e., are the DPF and EGR going to keep clogging up?
Do people tend to run this engine on super diesel? Does that prevent the clogging issue even on town driving?
I know about the DPF EGR delete and remap, this is a possibility but would probably have to wait a few months for funds and also to check there are no other faults with the car that would make us get shot of it.
Advice appreciated, cheers guys and girls.
