Great thread, have certainly learnt a trick or two and will now go hunting for more.
Only on the Brera i believe, 159 mirrors only fold by pushing the button i thought?

I've had my 159 TI (MY2010) 7 months and only discovered the rubbish tray yesterday!

when you set to mono, it sets the climate control to what ever temperature the driver has is it set to. when you adjust it, it adjusts both. once passenger temperature control is adjusted it turns off mono...

My arm rest doesnt seem to be able to move... Maybe this was an optional extra or introduced after my 2007 lusso was produced

If you slide back the cover that goes over the cup holder and cigarette lighter compartment, you will find there is a little lid that flips up to reveal a very small rubbish tray. The tray can also be removed completely, leaving you with more room underneath the aforementioned cover.

To be honest I probably won't use it because I'm obsessed with keeping my car interior clean!

I thought the same, but if you lift the top section up to about 45 degrees and pull it from the front and push from the back it will move, did mine today after reading the thread in the link below:

Ahh. I would call that the ashtray tho.
Threw mine into the glove box so I have more room in the arm rest

Arm Rest Slider
On that thread the picture for a working slider and non-working slider look identical. I've just been out to mine and applied enough force to wrench the whole interior out and nothing happened.

There must be a way of identifying why some move and some don't.

Mine doesn't seem to move either.. I've tried pulling it as hard as I can, but had to stop in fear of pulling the top lid off its hinges. Haven't tried the 45 degrees trick tho, will have another go when I get home...

A search may find some more pictures - apparently the sliding arm rest was left OFF the 159LE model in 2009 for example, but was fitted to Lusso MY2008 (I had one of those). It does take a fair old tug at first but don't rip the armrest off trying!

First I needed to be at 45 degrees but now I can do it flat

Only the top leather part moves forward an inch or two

IT MOVES!!!

Needed a fair shove but nothing too drastic... lifted it up slightly, pushed and hey presto

Looks like its never moved before now judging by the amount of dust uncovered

Yep. Exactly like mine lol

Now my challenge is that I have given up charging the iPhone from the USB port so I'm tryin to find/make an adapter to use the 12v output in the sliding cover
