If you gently (reasonably firm gentle ) tap the indicators instead of fully engaging them, they will flash 3 times and stop.
Perfect for lane changes.

Yes the hazards do flash under strong braking - seriously uncool features but you can use it to confuse the hell out of someone riding close to the back end down a mental country lane !!

Keep the unlock button pressed down when unlocking and it drops all four windows, just doesn't do the same if you press the lock button so they stay down also I like the little message when there is possibility of ice on the road

if you hold the lock button when closing the car, it will close the windows if you left them opened. If you release it halfway through the closing, it will leave them at that specific position.

If you turn the ASR/VDC off it puts a nice smiley face up on the Multifunction display. Much better than all the warnings you get on other brands

Yes I know it's ment to be the five studs in the wheel but the way there laid out can only mean one thing in my mind!!

Sadly not on UK 159s - that was a Brera-only feature in the UK although apparently enabled in some other markets. Nanny Alfa feared that little Charlie may have his neck out of the window whilst Daddy strolled off to pay for his fuel as he locked up the car remotely.

i think early 159's did remote window closing as well as opening. then the safety fairies paid alfa a visit and did away with the remote closing. which is a pain in the bum - plenty of times in the summer i've gone to lock the car and realised i've lefta window open - would be good to be able to to it from the fob. i do like the remote opening though

If you give a double click on the remote fob when you lock up it activates the dead bolts

I always wondered on the German cars when parked with parking lights on only 1 side.
It always seemed to be the correct side (i.e. roadside). I found out from my plumber this week (who has a ****ty old van) that if you put the indicators on (to the correct side) the parking lights will only light up on that side.... Genius!!! if it's in the normal position, both parking lights will go on.

The main disappointment with my 08 spider is that i cannot remotely put the roof down. Also, i have to keep my finger on the butten when in the car.... 30 seconds seems a damn age when waiting.

Love the MONO tip, thats something i really missed from my 156

Does anyone know how the additional cabin heater works on a diesel, and how do you know if you have one fitted?

Press and hold the "down" rocker switch on the end of the indicator stalk (the one you use for dimming dash illumination) and it'll switch off the rev counter and 3 dial gauges lighting, press and hold the up rocker to switch them back on

Insert the key into the immobiliser socket, press the clutch down and press the start button. My car starts the engine, which is a surprise given its an Alfa. Will have to take it to the nearest dealer !

For what it's worth.

I have an '07 UK 159, and my keyfob will close and open the windows. I've never had much cause to use it though.

For fear of stating the obvious, if you park in gear with the winding adjust button in "neutral" they fold automatically when you lock the car.

Great thread, have certainly learnt a trick or two and will now go hunting for more.
