Last year @ the centenary they were offering test drives of the GQV, either you drive or they took you out. Arese ( surprisingly ) had no test track, they use Ballocco, so they were using the public roads one group of Dutch / Germans returned white faced, the lady in the passenger seat, laid into the driver " how dare youyou nearly killed us putting it up on 2 wheels" . His reply " I am not a test driver, I am head of design, what did you want me to do ? Hit the truck
I drove it under a small bridge yesterday just after coming off a roundabout, the Q4 gripped and gripped and as I was in second gear and at high revs the sound under that bridge was out of this world. Dare I say it...as good if not better for a moment that a Busso V6!!!!! No joke the car in front of me must have heard it and instantly moved over to let me past
A few downsides are no Bose, no heated/electric seats and the CD player is not MP3 compatible. I am almost in shock about that one, it is the first time I have come across such a CD player in a modern Alfa. I thought they all were MP3 CD compatible! I will have to save up and get a bluetooth car kit of sorts as don't like the radio and playing normal CD's is getting quite annoying
Oh and it took me nearly an hour to get that stupid big Mangos sticker off the back, the one with the big M. I have still the scrape the Alfa Romeo but of it off as yet
I seriously cannot fault the way it drives and looks though. That induction that Mangos use is proper
Will get pics up soon as have been a bit busy the last few days
Some nice horseshoes like Grahams, and you won't be that far off...
Spot on. I would love a Ti but as any 3.2's were out of my price range it would have meant getting a 2.2 but really wanted a 3.2 again so in red with what are actually my favourite of the current Alfa alloys and bingo! Tan leather would have been nice but can live with black...I'm not overly fussy
After three weeks of waiting I hand in my diesel Blackline and pick up my second 159 3.2 V6 Q4 tomorrow. It is just in the workshop now having the induction from Mod 4 put in to enhance the sound. Looking forward to getting back into a petrol
Congrats on the new car, and welcome back to V6 heaven.
Get the Novitec back box on it and let me know what the whole package sounds like
