Looking for a Quieter 18" Tyre than Pzero Nero
I've just spent a couple of hours reading through the 159 tyre threads, but haven't found a clear answer yet.
My 2.4 came with Pzero Neros on its 18" wheels and they are remarkable tyres for grip. More than I need for my driving style really, since I've never come anywhere near losing grip. But while they are great when new, what I have noticed is that as they wear the steering gets heavier and they get noisier, especially on coarse-metalled Australian country roads. I'm on my third set now and as they get towards the end of their life it is quite unpleasant.
So what I'm looking at is a tyre that is less noisy, and I'm prepared to sacrifice a bit of the ferocious grip of the Pirellis to get that.
One thing making objective comparison difficult is that any new set is going to sound and feel great, so when people say "gosh, these new brand X tyres are so much better than my old brand Ys", they're right, but new brand Ys would be similarly nice.
I asked my dealer about it, and he suggested Yokohamas - has anyone had experience of these?
