Agree with much that is said.
Ideally everyone really would want a petrol. I own a diesel and will probably get a petrol for next car but..
The diesel I thought would give better mpg, gave less emissions and had more power and faster 0-60 than the 2.2 so I thought what the he'll let's go diesel.
As stock it's ok but not great. You must get a dpf removal in my book and it's so much better.
Get a 210 bhp model and that turns into 260 or 270 bhp with a bucket of torque that will put paid to most of the other models.
(I do love the idea of the 1750 but think it needs more power to be perfect).
It's heavier at the front but handles pretty well. It's just the noise of a tractor that really gets me. Whe. Accelerating there is a meaty roar and I quite like it. Just keep the radio on to quash the idle and slow traffic engine noise and you will be super happy with it
Generally I'm getting around 30 with fair bit of town driving.
On a 1600 mile journey to Italy I was getting 40 - 44 doing average speed of 77 mph for most of it and a bit less off the motorways.
I'd never look at a 1.9 the 2.2 I would consider and the 1750 but for me I want a car with decent grunt and the 270 bhp remapped 2.4 only just does it.
Next cat will need just a bit more I reckon or be much much lighter
