I have similar ones in my 147 GTA - Very thick pile with a heavy rubber backing, the original Alfa 147 has come off the drivers mat also. They are great quality although a bit cumbersome when taking out.
Big improvement on the original GTA mats in my 156 which appeared to be made out of an old weetabix box! Weight reduction
Yes.. they do need a different finish around the edges.. the long woolly strands look like the mat has been nicked off the end of a domestic carpet off-cut to me..
But I have pretty expensive aftermarket mats in my '45 that a) don't fit as snugly as the rubber-backed shaggy AR mats and b) are wearing out on the heel, even though they are "thicker than normal" (i.e. cheapo' ones)... so what do I know?
