it activates on an incline of over 6 degrees (as told by alfa dealership) and it just holds the brakes on for 2 seconds after coming off the brake as to give you time to get onto the clutch and accelerator!
I have an '06 159 2.4jtdm and even though I tried it it never has held on a hill. But when we had the big freeze the handbrake stuck and a load of warnings were displayed including hill hold not available ..... What's the story?
Well I have VDC because there is a button for it at the gear stick so I must have hill hold but it doesn't seem to work ..... Poo
You'd have a load of warnings if it was malfunctioning.
It only holds the car for a couple of seconds when you
come completely off the brake.
Are you sure you're trying it on a steep enough slope?
One way to know if it's working is to come off the brake pedal
but keep it covered with enough pressure to keep the brake light on.
You should feel the pedal kick back, but the car will hold on the rear brakes.
