After some deliberation i have decided to part company with my 56 plate 1.9jtdm 159 saloon. I bought her at 8 months old with 15k on the clock and have now driven just over 115,000 miles in 4 years. She has been a joy to drive and own but she will need a bit of money spent on her soon to get her through the next service + tyres so i have decided to put that money towards a new one and with the family getting bigger have opted for a 1.9jtdm Lusso sportwagon used 2008 reg with 40k on the clock (at least for the interim until the new guillia arrives in a couple of years)
I have constantly averaged 44-45 mpg on my travels and have only 2 things go wrong in all that time which i consider should not have happened. The 1st was the steering wheel rack (although replaced under warranty) the 2nd was a broken horn caused by a faulty wire which meant the loom had to be taken out and the wire repaired.
Other than that the rest have been wear and tear such as:-
One suspension arm strut replaced
Countless tyres (although no issue with uneven tyre wear)
Battery replaced after 4 years.
Couple of new headlights
Not bad for a car that my friends keep telling me looks nice but will break down. I just smile to that and carry on driving as I pass 100s of german branded cars.
I just hope my new 159 will give me as much pleasure as my last.
