suck or blow - what should I expect???!!
Doing some minor checking over on the 2.4 JTDm yesterday. Found a lot of oily sludge beneath the plastic air trunking joint on the turbo inlet manifold so decided to tighten the joint up - it was loose.
However, was a little confused as I thought on the low pressure air side of the turbo the system between the air flow meter and turbo would be under vacuum so why would it be blowing out? Took off the "oil breather" [my guess] pipe onto the trunking just before the plastic pipe descends to the turbo and started the motor. To my surprise it was indeed blowing out [in pulses at idle] of the low pressure air trunking. Guess it only sucks at higher revs which as I was on my own could not check.
Is this normal??
