Thanks all for the kind words of luck and encourgement!
A few good ideas there...as much as I'd like a Brera, part of the fun of having a nice motor is the family trips and holidays..I'd always be on my lonesome which is no fun!!
As for an Alfa SUV...some things just aren't meant to be!!
Tried our current Maxi Cosi in the middle rear seat, unfortunately due to the shape of the seat you just can't get it to fit tightly (its as tight as a nun's chuff in either of the rear side seats!)
Although a maxi cosi rear facing seat just fits either side of it, the damn things are so long I can't push the drivers seat far back enough to actually drive (I'm 6'2"). Three Group 1 seats won't get a look in.
So there we have it! I think we'll keep the missus' A3 sportback for a town run around for 1 + kids, as its getting on a bit (the A3 that is...though...come to think of it...)
So I ventured into a place I never thought I'd go on saturday for my first adjustment therapy session...a Volvo dealers. I just can't quite accept a people carrier, not even a sporty one like an s-max, so i think it will have to be the 4x4 route. So maybe XC90 (7 seats)...looks like XC60, Q5, touareg are all 5 seats with no more rear bench width than a 5\A6 etc.
We've got a two week holiday cruising the west coats of scotland in July...maybe that is a fitting swansong for my time with the beloved SW...
Its only a few years, before a decent saloon \ estate will be suitable again I suppose...maybe an XF estate will be out by then? As for alfa's, can't image I'll be back on one of those for a while...unless I get a cheap spider weekend toy...hmmm there's an idea!
Anyway, its still out there on the drive for now, so I'll enjoy her while I can!
