Need to tuck a 147 in there as well! Maybe time for a rebrand.
I called the dealer (Platts in Stoke) weeks ago and said Id take it on a Friday. Over the weekend I found Id been credit hacked and couldnt sort the finance, and the car sold on the Saturday.
4 weeks later, I saw an identical car, amazingly at Platts again - coincidence considering how few there are of them, and spoke to the same salesman again. The original buyer had pulled out at the last minute, so I took a second punt at buying it - at this point unseen in the metal or photos as none were online yet - and was credit clean again by then.
To be fair, he described it well. Its been through the bodyshop and has 4 new Pirelli P Zeros so looks like new. The interior is more worn than I expected from an 18,000 mile car and worse than my 150,000 156 - a bit of drivers seat lumbar scuff, key chips on the fascia (which I predicted first time I tried a 159 when they came out) and a family with sandpaper shoes have clambered over the nice metal kick plates.
But, apart from the post delaying the documents back and forth they were great and got everything done from 200 miles away - a new Alfa appeared yesterday, and my old one will vanish on Tuesday - unless anyone wants a well maintained but high mileage 156 this weekend?
