Buying Advice Needed 156 to 159

Hi Forum

I currently have a 156 TS Tourismo 1.8 petrol on a 54 plate with less than 45k on the clock apart from the usual wear and tear parts I've had no major problems in nearly 2 years, I love my car but it's costing me a fortune to run. I get about 400 miles from a full tank with about 250 miles on m/way

I'm thinking of getting a 159 diesel and seen a 08 (57 plate) 1.9 JTDM Lusso with 65k on the clock for 7.6k

Is this a good price for a 159?
Should I be concerned about the milage on this car?
What kind of milage can I expect to get from a tank on the 159?
Any other things to look out for / general buying advice?

Do a thread post as there are a lot of people
asking this type of question now the cars are
reaching a lower 2nd hand price.

Across the range the possible premature steering rack failure (track rod ends)
is the only main issue.

There are a few DERV minor issues, but that's out of my area of knowledge, I'm afraid.

Alfa Romeo 159

A few months ago I purchased an 06 159 1.9 Lusso JTDM with 40k on the clock for 7799..

No regrets, average around 45mpg with a mix of city centre/motorway driving. Everyone is very envious of 'The Beast'..
