Our new Spider is a proper Alfa!
Just bought Mrs Alfabaz a Spider to replace her 147. Took it out the other morning but couldn't quite gel with the car: it was cold, hood up, some minor squeaks, and generally I just didn't feel at one with the car.
Went for a coffee, came outside to sunshine. Much warmer. Got in the car. Hood down. Car suddenly transformed! Felt much more responsive, sounded great...and suddenly I was driving it properly. It's as if it needed some Italian weather to lift its spirits and reveal its character. It was brilliant.
It reminded me of many of my old Alfas - some days they were really up for it and flattered your driving, and other days things just weren't quite right. Ergo, the Spider must be a proper Alfa! Beemer owners just wouldn't understand.
