The Hunt for a Brera Begins...
I have been scouring this excellent forum for a several months now, gaining valuable insight into the pros and cons of owning a piece of Italian exotica in the shape of a 2.4 Brera which I fully intend to be sitting in within the next month, despite the protests of the wife! My budget of about 12.5K means that I am more than likely going to land a 200 bhp model, probably on a 56 or 57 plate. The general concensus on here is that I get the DPF removed and a remap; to me this makes sense since I'm in this for the long term and do around 15K miles annually. My questions to you guys are as follows: I'm probably going to buy from a dealer as I have a p-ex, so obviously finding a car which has already had these modifications would be a real bonus. So, when I'm out looking at potential buys, can I reasonably expect details of remaps, DPF removal, etc to be included in the cars history?,... is it easy enough to under the car to check the DPF has been removed? For example, would someone choppng in a Brera at dealer be asked or even declare if the car had been remapped, etc, or,are they unlikely to declare any mods from standard thinking that it may 'devalue' the car in the eye of dealer?
Any guidance greatly appreciated!
