Bluetooth for ipod/iphone.

As my Brera doesn't have factory Blueandme fitted, can anyone personally recommend (and by recommend, I mean something YOU have had done) an aftermarket kit?
I'm thinking Parrot maybe?

I just fitted a Blaupunkt Toronto 410 BT to another car.

It's got a clunky menu system but has all the handsfree
functions (voice dialling is phone dependant) and also an
external mic.

MP3 compatible and has an SD card reader, USB port (inc iPod/Phone
connectivity) and A2DP streaming.

It's only a single DIN so would need a facia adaptor.

I fitted the TomTom cradle which gives you bluetooth, charger and a stronger gps signal for the satnav.

I would not be without my Parrot. sqwak sqwak..

Seriously they are a brilliant piece of kit for the money and the bonus is you can take it with you onto your next car if you ever sold your motor.

2-din Alpine iXA-W407bt with bespoke fascia.

Looks the business - better than the original, can plug an iPod into it via glovebox and also full bluetooth for calls and streaming.

I have one in my 159 works almost faultlessly. I have an iPod plugged in in the glovebox and my iPhone 4 connects through bluetooth. There's no cd\dvd or ad slots so it's either iPod or USB drive but that's not a problem, it plays music or video straight off he iPod and will play music via the Bluetooth from my phone (albeit not perfectly). Only issue with it is the phone doesn't always show as connected even though it is which prevents dialling out using the touch screen, incoming calls work perfectly though every time. Biggest plus is that it looks and sounds so much better than the oem Alfa kit and it's very reasonably priced.

If you want to see some pics let me know.

What goes around usually gets dizzy and falls over.

I'm another advocate of parrot, currently got MKi 9200, my third parrot install (in 3 cars) really can't fault it for the money, and discreet but quite cool at the same time

The colour match of the dash / fascia / Alpine is as good as i've seen. The fitters insisted on taking photos for their website!

My now very old Parrot 3200 has already been in two other cars but fitted into the 159 with no problems and works so much better than B&M.

Do you mind me asking who fitted your parrot system? Did you do it yourself or did you get an ICE installer to do it?

I'm a bit of a spastic with a screwdriver, and wouldn't trust myself to do it without breaking something. I see that Halfords will install a parrot for free, but I'm not sure I'd trust them either...

I had mine done at Sextons. I think it was 280 supplied and fitted. Thats a MK9200i (my second - got one fitted to the wifes car aswell). They really are excellent value for money and work brilliantly.

I wouldn't trust Halfords either. They are banking on it being plug and play which in our cars it's not as there is no switched live in the car loom and the constant live is on the wrong pin.

it's not hard to fit, I did mine myself but needs a bit of thought.

Cheers

I did it myself, and yes it is not plug and play owing to the missing switched live. I tapped into the cig lighter wiring for that. The Parrot allows audio streaming from my phone SatNav ap which B&M does not and in any case the Parrot sound quality on calls is much better (probably owing to the mic position).
