My car has started performing well.
This last few days has seen a significant increase in my car's performance.
Strangely, this phenomenon started round about last thursday, and has peaked today on a 60 mile round trip to Notts and back.
Today, I felt a DPF regen kick in. But, I had to leave the motorway while it was in operation and dropped my revs below 2000 for a while until getting back up to speed. Will the DPF have completed properly?
Anyway, here is proof that my car has magically got better:
a) 38.9 mpg average consumption over 60 miles with 50% Motorway, 40% A roads with roundabouts, 10% backstreets. I've never gotten over 32mpg before!!
b) The hillholder worked one time at a set of lights. This is only the 3rd time it has ever kicked-in in 3 months of ownership!
c) A brand new feature was witnessed tonight when I ended my journey. Now - this is something that has never happened before. When I removed the keys from the dashboard, a graphic came on the DIS saying 'follow me lights - 30 sec'. Maybe my hamfistedness caused me to brush up against some button or dial when I went to retrieve the keys. But I've never had this happen before. It's amazing.
The car also seems a lot quieter and smoother than normal too.
Do you think the remap fairies have crept in during the night?
Maybe it is the warm weather making everything operate properly. But I think my Alfa is actually demonstrating some of how it is meant to perform. I just hope it continues.
