Hi Guys I'm new and need your help!!!
Just brought the 159 two months ago and last Tuesday driving back from work from london I heard i loud rattling noise and could smell smoke!! and then the engine stopped while I was on the large Putney roadabout (all this happen in a space of a minute and 100 yards). Got the car towed back to my garage in Derby and they told me that the cambelt slipped by 2 teeth.
Now my garage have sent it to a Derby Alfa specialist to fix, so far they have change the cambelt, rockers, camshaft, i think its the cam pullys and etc (I've forgotton the amount of things they have changed)
They have said that the compression test reading was not good (low) after replacing the cambelt. So after taking the car for a spin and it had lack of power. The Garage have mentioned it could be due to valves being bent or the turbo is knackered.
My knowledge of engines is slim! but i thought if little or not the correct compression the car wont start. Also if the turbo was knackered that should not have anything to do with the compression being low?
Guys please can you help!!
Q 1) If the valves are bent, how much will that cost me to fix?
Q 2) How much will a turbo cost to replace and fit?
Q 3) Whats wrong with my car
The bill is almost 900 already so its getting to the mark that i can't afford them to guest.
