I got a set of Vredsteins from Tyremen Tyremen - 225/50R17 (98Y) Vredestein Ultrac Cento XL
They are currently out of stock, but at £110 per corner they are the cheapest I could find. Also, they are the correct load index of 98.
I have not got round to fitting them. They will be replacing 2 Pirelli P0 Rossos & 2 Bridgestone Potenza's
That's exactly what I would have bought. I've been looking for tyres last 4 weeks and probably read every decent review and test I could find on the net !!!!
The vreds I don't think you'll get at that price at all. They have been out of stock a long time. A the price you can get them for it's probably not worth it.
I currently have Michelin primary's and they are ok but expensive .
The conti sport 3 and 5 both rate very very well but again can be quite expensive.
I wanted a decent tyre that would perform in most situations for my driving. I'm not going to do really stupid things and never going on the track so they just need to be good.
In this mid range I found a few that had varying reviews . The vredesteins as above, the nokian z g2 which had some interesting reviews and results and the hankook v12 evo k110
Overall the hankooks had many good positions and results in various tests and I found them for £111 Inc delivery from oponeo.co.uk
Depends what you need but for me I thought the hankooks were the best bang for buck with good performance.
I'll be fitting them soon and let you know
Let's see how interesting this thread gets as the premium and budget champions get involved
