I've just replaced two of the Hydraulic pipes for the roof, and need to fill up the reservoir. I will use Craigs suggestion as It makes perfect sense.
Has anyone managed to top up or fill their reservoir? Can anyone confirm Tutela GI/R is in fact the correct oil as it seems to refer to the power steering in google, could be the same but I just wanted to check.
I think I am having the same problems as you
! I have been having some issues with my roof this season, sometimes it has been working fine, others, it stops halfway through the closing process (opening is fine). I normally try and open it again fully and close it, which sometimes works, other times, I try and push (occasionally jiggle a bit) the manual release cable back in and this normally seems to do the trick. Last night however, same process as above, jiggled the cable a bit and got the roof to close, however as it was closing is dripped a load of hydraulic fluid onto my passenger seat. It did complete the cycle though, I didn't try opening it again as it was dark and I didn't fancy messing around at 10pm.
I am planning to take another look tonight to see what has happened, was it easy to see the split pipes, or do I need to start messing about with roof lining?
So I would be interested to know if your experience was similar and if you replaced the pipes yourself and where you sourced them and for how much? From some of the horror stories I have been reading, I am having nightmares this is going to cost be hundred and possibly thousands
Any help from anyone is always really appreciated!
