Sorry for the long delay folks, we had our first child born a week ago so I've been a little busy to say the least!!
NJS came highly recommended from a friend who has had Alfas serviced and sorted there for years. Very friendly and knowledgable on the phone and the same in person.
To the remap then...! I'd had my MY57 2.4 210bhp 159 Ti for about 6 months and to be honest found the performance to be a little lack lustre considering the 210bhp stated. As for the MPG - don't even get me started on that!! Hovering around 30mpg is shocking!!
I'd been cogitating over a remap almost since I drove the car away from the dealer, but since the two places I knew about for a good remap were both a long way away, I always put it off. Then I found NJS only 40 minutes away from home in Warwick.
The drive is now stunning! It pulls like a train from the bottom of the rev range, any turbo lag that did exist seems to have been 'deleted'! Every gear is the same. It is now an absolute joy to drive. Coming from Boxster S ownership straight to a diesel estate was always going to be difficult, but now I have something that I really can play with all the time!!!!
As for MPG, I've only driven the car for a couple of days, but after a considerably 'sporty' drive on the way home from NJS, I saw the trip computer go from 29.1 on the way there in traffic, to 33 on the way home - fantastic! I'll report back soon with more on that when I've driven it more.
One thing I was amazed at was the size and weight of the DPF itself (which was in the boot). It's huge and weighs about 20kg!! That HAD to go!!
So without a shadow of a doubt the best thing I have done with my 159, an absolute transformation - back to Porsche style performance for me, and I'm really not exaggerating!!
