[QUOTE=2.4 JTD;4105743]Thanks for your reply curiousorange, mine only completed around 6-7000 miles after the remap before I noticed any problems which leads me to think there may have been a existing clutch problem when I bought the car....although I could never prove this. The sticking clutch pedal was there before the clutch change and still is along with the really notchy gear change which cannot be right after a new clutch.
Alfa Tuners has done 60k on the original clutch after the remap, I am really not sure if I should put the car back to standard just to be on the safe side as I am one unlucky person with cars, I have spent £1000 already and only had the car for 8 months.[/QUOTE
There are too many cars on here with remaps and/or DPF deletes with fried clutches and or failed DMF’s for this not to be a ‘real’ issue. Just cos one car has hit 60k doesn’t mean everyone else ok. The failures I have heard of seem to be nearer to half that mileage. The same experience is on many other makes forums too.
I traded my car in because I didn’t trust the clutch DMF not to go again within 20K, or something worse like the gearbox; I just couldn’t afford it. Un-remapped the Brera 2.4 is just too slow and heavy.
I’m gutted; I absolutely loved that car, spending literally thousands on ICE, suspension upgrades (and tyres) for it to end up in an auction. If you are considering a remap, it really could cost a lot more than you think. Do some research.
