Mine went back last week. Got charged 120 for two badly scuffed wheels which I was expecting (and I was actually quoted more to repair them by a couple of local smart repairers). No problems with mixed brand tryes as long as they are legal and the right size. Mine had a mixture of Brigestones and Pirellis. There was also a chip on the drivers side windscreen which again didn't bother him. I also had some bad chips on the front bumper which i filled with a touch up pen and these weren't mentioned.
I think at the end of the day it depends if you get a jobsworth inspector or not. The chap who got mine was pleasant enough, made him a cup of tea and some small talk and he was fine. He said he only reported the wheels as they were so badly scuffed that he would not have got away without reporting them. The others were scuffed too, just not as bad.
End of the day, clean the car well, be polite, offer tea and biscuits and make some small talk and they are generally ok I think. The majority of inspectors work for Manheim anyway and are contracted by FGA to collect and inspect, so its no skin off their nose if FGA make a massive profit at auction or not. Obviously if your car is covered in dents and you have abused it, its a different kettle of fish. But if you look after the car as if it were your own, generally you will be alright.
All that worry for nothing :-)
