If it's an advisory, I wouldn't be too concerned. It's still deemed to have an acceptable amount of "wear," and very unlikely to become serious, and if it did wear out you will probably hear it "clunking" away, which will cause you to get it sorted.
I'd wait until later in the year to get it looked at (a bit more wear), or wait until the next M.O.T. and see what they say then?
I think that a fair few advisories (not saying all by any means) are written to "look like they are doing the job properly." My wifes MX5 got one for corroded rear brake pipe. I didn't get around to changing it and resigned myself to having to pay to get it changed at the next M.O.T Wasn't even put down as an advisory as corroded. Once had "play in steering bushes," took it to another test centre (a few years ago now) and not a mention.
Just my (flawed) opinion.
