Brera starting and electrical issues - help please!
Hope you can help!
I'm the generally happy (currently unhappy) owner of a Brera 2.4 jtdm 07 plate, seem to be having major issues with the old girl at the moment. I'll try to give a detailed explanation:
Drove down to Nottingham from Manchester the other week, no problems at all (apart from a warning message stating 'parking help not availiable'), got to destination, stayed overnight. Went to start the following morning and took around 20 minutes to get going - when turning over the engine started then briefly went to 2000 rpm and died, kept doing this until it eventually got past 2000rpm and revved ok, at which point took it out for a run, was a bit hesitant at first but eventually came back to life.
Drove back to Manchester and all seemed ok until final stage where it started to feel a bit flat - was revving ok just didn't feel as responsive as before.
Got up the next morning to start, unlocked and driver window dropped about 2 inches, key in ignition and got messages 'window safety not available', 'parking help not available'. Another 20 minutes trying to get car started, eventually did but plenty of white smoke (not steam) out of the back, kept running until up to temp (thinking it might be glow plugs) allowed car to drop to normal revs - it stalled. Another 20 minutes trying to get started along with the error messages and window dropping. Car refuses to tick over.
Anyone got any ideas of things I can try before hauling it off to the garage?
With all the messages could it be a bad earth?
Would that cause the smoke?
Thanks in advance!
