Alfa 159 2.0 JTD Sportwagon rumbling

Does anyone know of a problem of a rumbling noise (not road noise) as car comes to a halt from around 50mph. Sounds like wind through power lines!! The car is new and has done this since it was delivered - is it a disk problem? The car is 3 months old with 4k on the clock... Anyone any Ideas or is this the way it is. Any help would be appreciated.

Sounds like quite a romantic noise - my 1.9 just used to grumble like a 1976 Transit with faulty wheel bearings.

Are you sure you are not just hearing tyre noise? Your Ti wears big boots and can be noisy. What tyres are fitted? Does the sound vary according to road surface?
Could it be turbo whine?

(off out to find some windy power lines)

Can't say mine makes a noise like that - though mine's a Lusso on 17" rims. The overall tyre size isn't so different though, the rolling radius will be more or less the same and your tyres are only 10mm or so wider.
