Simple question so pls...simple answer

i drive an Astra GTC 1.9 CDTI 150 CV, and i'm currently negociating an AR 159 sw 1.9JTDm 150 cv year 2007 (Ti version) with 52k km and i'm used to the german reliability.
my astra and the 159 run on the same engine so no problems with the engine i supose but what about electronics? does the new AR line (mito 159 giulieta gt) already have the touch of their new german chefe engeneer and now they actualy work well with no every mounth trip to nearest dearler? i'm a bit afraid of this dpf and egr probelms because i don't want to spend all the budget on dealers!!!

so my simple and humble (always loved alfa's) question is:

should i get the 2007 159?

thanks in advance.

simple answer, yes. you've already explained that your current car has the same engine as the 159. How many problems have you had with that?

Yes. the current generation cars are very well built and reliable with no particular electrical problems.

Only minor problems are common to all modern diesels - the DPF or soot trap can get a bit clogged if you drive in town a lot. But you know that if you already have that engine.

i havn't had 1 single problem with the engine...only slow, so called super 1.9 tdi, ppl on fast lanes...(like ibizas leons golfs 3 sieres etc)!!!!
my astra is 120k km and running...only problem is due to it's beeing a common rail it tends to drink some oil but my opel mechanic/friend says it's ok because of my cold accelarations and such lol.

if i purchase the alfa i'll be posting some photos for you guys

Obviously the SW you're looking at has a service history and every that should have been done was done, then it will be fine, find out if it needed much work under warranty and the usual used car checks, all will be well. I have only had my 159 a few weeks and no probs so far, but one thing I can add is that the build quality and general solid feel of the car is definatley a step up from alfas I've had before, 156 and GT

I've not had the problem but there seems to be consensus on here that the correct power steering fluid is important so thats worth checking
