It is your solemn duty to wave, even if you only get a few acknowledgements! I reckon 1 out of 10 I wave to respond, there again I often see a red 147 on the Ripon road on a Wednesday and we always wave and flash our lights!

Have learnt that there's another black Brera S in Ashford tOday, Honked and Waved him in Sainsburys carpark much to my sons embarrassment! Got to be done, there's only 166 of us in the country!

Long live the Alfa wave.

And its definitely the code of honor that the driver of an 8C waves at a GTV6, GTV, 1750, 155, 146, 147, 156, Brera, 159 whatever... Or else she/he really is a just an Audi R8 driver in disguise.

i did a test over a week duration to see how many alfas i passed, compared to the amount that returned the Alfa wave. Severly dissapointed, the Aussie Alfa owners are terrible. Passed 5 147's not one waved, a 159 identical to mine returned the wave, however i think it was because our cars looked the same rather then the tradition, and a GT did wave back. However after counting around 20 Alfas, only 3 waved back. Going to retake the test again next week, ill post results

I think you're right. No disrespect to Mito drivers.

I got a curious stare from a 159 SW yesterday on the M54, as it overtook me lol! Was almost at the point of waving!

I do the finger point (to the other owners car) then thumbs up, and almost always get a response back, because even if they are not Alfisti and don't get it, they still know I am giving the thumbs up for their car and not trying to pick them up or something.

But here in South Africa Alfa is far more rare than other brands like VW, Toyota, BMW etc(and seems to be becoming more so) and is seen as a specialist brand, so I would think you would get more of a response here than in the UK.

...and any true Alfisti should wave at a "lower" car than them, I always give the Mito drivers a thumbs up.

If you were driving a white 159 TI on the A41 to Watford this morning, I did wave but you may not have seen me through the rain!
