Splicing in a 12v feed for phone charger into 159 loom

I want to Splice in a 12v feed for phone charger into 159 loom.

I have installed a Motorola DEFY with Car Kit holder just above the right side of the instrument binicle (attached to windscreen). But it is the wrong side of the steering wheel to run the phone charger lead from the cigarette lighter to the phone.

So I want to chop up the phone charger & take a 12v feed from the fuse box on the lower right side of the dashboard upto the phone (as this will also be a neat install).

Has anyone done anything similar ?

Reason I ask this is that the 159 uses the CANBUS system & I dont know if the normal method of finding a 12vDC feed from the back of the wiring fuse board will work in the same way that it does on older cars ?

Best place to take it from is the cigar lighter feed underneath the centre console
