nah probably just because you've got an Angel map ... also did you not get Angel to disable your EGR when they remapped it???
Possibly slightly unfair on Angel. I've had one of their treatments to my derv and am pretty chuffed with the results.
After a remap (the ones without EGR modification/delete) the user will possibly see a few problems with the EGR/DPF as any previous underlying problems will be accentuated by the thrashing/keen driving that people will undoubtably do post tune.
I saw a DPF issue after the car had sat for 7 days not moving, and the EGR cleaning I did was after 15K miles post remap. So not really contributable to Angel.
I had a long chat with the main man at Angel and he certainly knows his stuff. The emission systems on modern diesels will always be a weak point in the system, remap, tuning box or standard. I agree that getting rid of the stupid things is a great idea, but at the time I didn't have that kind of money, and the people that do these mods are few and far between, from me anyway.
So I think the whole remaps/tuning boxes ruin your car argument need to thought of in the context of those of us that have not had a problem, meaning it is not a consistent fact. There are rubbish standard tuning boxes and remaps, generic ones that don't take into account the specifics of the engine, car, gearbox etc...
Just my thoughts and ideas on the subject.....
