Well Happy Alfa 169 news

Alfa 169 - will be RWD and AWD and pics sighted:
Alfa Romeo 166-Nachfolger: Alfa 169 kommt wieder mit Heckantrieb - auto motor und sport

Looks like the nearest future for Alfa is D class sedan/limo on Giulietta (which itself is a C class) reworked platform and E class sedan/limo based on Chrysler C300 platform (i.e. the "old" Merc W211). What's a very positive rumour, the top engine may be V8 with 2 turbos, giving a striking 405bhp!

Maser Quattroporte for the masses?

Front looks interesting, then your eyes follow the flanks to the rear where it becomes a wierd hybrid of Insignia and 5-Series GT.

Is there really a market for Alfa's at that level though? Look what happened to the 166 (albeit pitched at a lower level, but still, woeful sales and redfining depreciation)...

Also surely Fiat already has Masa doing the luxo limo thing quite nicely already at a price point that cuts beneath the Panamera, and Rapide. Why try and compete with Masa by making an Alfa to try to appeal to same very limited market?

Or is this part of a new plan to take Alfa to the lucrative Chinese market?

Luck is the residue of opportunity and design...

Its profile reminds of the new Jags.

The Chrysler 300C is based on Merc E-class W210 (1996-2002), not W211... A rather old but mechanically solid and reliable chassis.

It looks like a mix of most other large saloons on the road. More imagination required!

According to FGA's five-year plan, there is no 169.

That model was canned so that Maserati could develop an entry-level car, the 'Baby Maserati' which may feature a Chrysler Pentastar V6 twin-turbo unit. Maserati to build baby Quattroporte by 2011 | Car Advice | Reviews

Thinking at FGA top brass was that they could command more of a premium with a Maserati badge.

That picture is from a "Mark Stehrenberger" who works for "Auto Motor und Sport". It's pure fantasy has nothing to do with any information from Alfa.
We know, something like that will never come, don't we?

Where's your head supposed to go if you're sitting in the back?

Agreed poor effort by alfa if that is the design i very much doubt it though i have seen much better predictions of the design, but i thinks its prity much academic as i dont realy believe it will be built.

From the side is like an Audi A7, the rear beeing something of a mixed bag of Insignia (as already stated) and the old 5' series. Frankly, miles away from what I would expect from Alfa. It's just too... german.
