Are carpets technical !!??
Not the usual type of enquiry but might provide an entertaining topic!
Still going over my new (to me) 159. Lifted the aftermarket driver's carpet and found that it must have had a femail (maybe!) driver who was very partial to stilletos as under the clutch and brake just forward of the stitched in rubber mat is a dirty great hole (4x2cm)through the foam underlay to the floor pan. The underlay/sound deadening material is all chewed up.
Anyone any tips on a) filling up the disintegrated foam underlay and b) reinfocing the damaged carpet. I ask because the foam must be about 3 cm deep and seems very sturdy, it's certainly the thickest material I've ever seen on a car floor.
Any comments welcome.
