The official Alfa interval for cambelt changes on the jtdm engines is 90K miles! Gulp.
Or 5 years, which ever sooner.
My car was 3 years old at 72K and had it done then, along with the water pump.
The belt is supposed to be pretty robust, it is the followers, tensioners and water pump that seem to throw the belt when they seize/go. This was explained to me by the indie Alfa garage I use, I trust them as well.
Maybe at your mileage this is a bit early? But then I suppose it is total peace of mind if the job is done.
Moved over to the dark side
And loving it
